Database Administration is responsible for the database supporting our client's applications.

Principal Responsibilities

Works closely with client and technical management, and with related support groups (e.g. Data Resource Management, Systems Software Support, Communications Software, Computer Operations), to design and implement databases and database support tools and procedures in support of complex business application development requirements and processes.
Setup, build and automate database code deployment.
Performance tuning with the help of ADDM / AWR , perfstat tools set.
Oracle database troubleshooting and management
Database backup & Recovery
Security Compliancy

Requirements Minimum 8 years experience in data administration and/or database administration is required.

Knowledge/Skills

Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Requires general knowledge and hands-on experience in all database disciplines, including logical and physical database design, database implementation, access optimization, security, storage management, system and application performance management, and database systems administration.
Extensive knowledge of database internals, data dictionary, PL/SQL coding, Backup & Recovery concepts, database security and monitoring (Grid Control).
Hand's on experience in performance tuning and B&R
Perl, shell scripts programming
Requires in-depth, hands-on expertise in Oracle 9i/10g, Unix (Aix/Solaris/Linux) and or HP Open VMS.

Education, Training or Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience required. Oracle certification preferred.
