Providing expertise, advice and counsel on all compliance related matters based on advanced business or audit experience across several business groups in Asia Pacific
Coordinating enterprise-wide compliance audit coverage across all major business lines in Asia Pacific
Liaising with various Corporate Audit's Compliance teams globally to ensure consistent compliance coverage of key regulations
Proactively implementing audit strategy for the sound application of risk based practices by defining audit scope, audit program, and review and test procedures in area of responsibility
Compiling appropriate reports to reflect state of compliance of all major business lines in Asia Pacific
Coordinating and managing relationships and communication with the Compliance function and regulators across Asia Pacific

As a qualified applicant, you will need to have 8 to 10 years experience in the banking or finance industry with the majority of these in a Compliance function or in an Internal Audit function specializing in the compliance area. You will have a working solid knowledge of banking and securities laws and regulations of multiple jurisdictions across the ASIA PACIFIC REGION (MUST HAVE). You must have excellent communication skills and presentation skills. You will need to be a team player and have the ability build sound relationships with your colleagues, both senior and junior.

Title: VP/Director of Bank Regulatory Compliance
Location: Manhattan
$150K to $220000

The client, an international investment bank, is seeking a VP or Director level for a Bank Regulatory Compliance role. This role will help provide Compliance support to the banking business units. Management experience is not necessary, but this person must have in-depth knowledge of banking regulations.

This candidate will work directly with the Head of Bank Regulatory Compliance to develop Compliance policies that uphold securities laws and regulations, as well as developing metrics and reporting systems. Additional responsibilities include preparing regulatory examinations, monitoring regulatory developments, reviewing business lines, and providing Compliance training.

This role requires a senior candidate with thorough understanding of banking regulations, as well as risk management and operational procedures. This candidate must be able to keep abreast of regulatory developments and assess the impact on the bank. There will be significant interaction with Operations and Business groups to provide training for new procedures and making sure that new regulations are enforced.

This candidate must have at least 3-6 years of experience with Bank Regulatory Compliance; experience at a Federal Regulator is preferred. Bachelor’s Degree is required, and JD is preferred
